A beautiful lakeside campsite run by the Archer Family with hippos, crocodiles and a fantastic variety of birds and reptiles.

5 hrs from Nairobi in the heart of Kenya's Great Rift Valley

Lake Baringo, on the threshold of the great Northern Desert provides us with one of Kenya’s most stunning landscapes, home to an unparalleled array of animal and bird life.
Verreaux’s Eagle Owl, Hammerkop, Stork, Hornbill, and Fish Eagle are just some of the reputed 450 species of birds a visitor will almost certainly encounter. Without even leaving the camp, hours may be passed identifying the fascinating array of colourful Weavers, Starlings, and Sunbirds..



Hippos, sometimes with young, graze on the lawns at night, while at the lakeshore, crocodiles may be closely observed.

Around the camp live a variety of smaller animals, including Jennet Cat, Monitor Lizards and Tortoise. including our own resident giant tortoise, 85 year old “Mzee Koby.”

The Lake and camp are quite safe for visitors, but guests are reminded that animals, and especially hippos, should never be approached too closely, and special care must be taken after dark.
